Two Ottawa people are facing drug and gun charges after a four-month investigation by the Ottawa Police Service.
The drug unit began an investigation in January into individuals suspected of trafficking illicit drugs in the city. A search warrant was executed at a home and storage units in the Kanata Lakes area on May 10, with assistance from the west neighbourhood resource team, the tactical team, the canine unit and the street crime unit.
Seized at the scene, according to a police news release Tuesday, were: a loaded semi-automatic handgun, loaded magazine, additional ammunition, a large sum of Canadian currency, and a substantial quantity of illegal substances, including cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, cannabis, hashish, dilaudid pills and oxycodone pills.
Eiad Elfarou, 45, and Stuart Cossee, 31, were charged with several Controlled Drug and Substance Act offences, several firearms charges, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of proceeds of crime.
Elfarou remained in custody, while Cossee is to appear in court at a later date, the release said.
