Remnants of Hurricane Beryl could bring significant rainfall to Ottawa.

Environment Canada updated a special weather statement for Ottawa on Tuesday afternoon, warning of possible localized rainfall totals of 25 to 50 millimetres “beginning Wednesday morning or afternoon, and tapering off Thursday.”

“At this point, the heaviest rain is expected to remain south of the (Ottawa) region, where rainfall warnings have been issued,” the special advisory said. “If the weather system tracks farther north, warnings may need to be extended accordingly.”
