Weather: Capital forecast of a little snow and possible frost to weekend heat wave

Veteran Ottawa weather watchers are familiar with having a variety of clothing options this time of year to deal with constantly changing conditions.

Residents in several areas of the capital experienced a bit of snowy weather early Wednesday, with the temperature at about 1 C.

Skies are expected to clear through the afternoon, with the temperature reaching 5 C.

Wednesday night is expected to see a chilly low of -5 C, with winds at about 15 km/h having a windchill effect of -9 overnight.

Frost is possible overnight, forecasters say.

Thursday looks sunny in the beginning, with a high of 10 C, and windchill readings of -8 in the morning. Thursday night should be clear with a low of -5.

The heat begins to move in Friday, with a forecast high of 15 C and a low of 2 C.

By Saturday, forecasters expect a mix of sun and cloud with 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 16 C.

Saturday night looks like a 70 per cent chance of showers and a low of 10 C.

Showery weather is expected to continue Sunday, with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high of 20 C.

The Weather Network forecasts the temperature will “feel like” 25 C in the region as humidity rises.
