Five female teenagers are facing consequences after an assault took place at a Pembroke high school.
The youths, aged 15 to 17 years old, are in trouble after a group assaulted a 15-year-old female at the school. Minor injurues were sustained by the victim.
Ontario Provincial Police launched the investigation on Sept. 11 after the assault was reported.
Working with school officials, police were able to identify five teens. As a result two of the females were charged and three others will have charges diverted.
A 15-year-old and 16-year-old were arrested and charged with assault and will appear at a Youth Court in Pembroke.
Three others, ranging in age from 16 to 17 years old, will face extrajudicial measures in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The parents of teens were notified.
