One person has been taken into custody after a police operation in Carleton Place.
The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a residence on Lake Avenue East, east of Beckwith Street, shortly after noon on Tuesday, May 7.
The OPP had received reports of a individual in crisis seen brandishing a knife.
Officers, including the OPP Emergency Response Team, surrounded the home while the Lanark OPP Mobile Crisis Response Team and OPP Crisis Negotiators worked to resolve the situation.
A man was safely taken into custody shortly before 3:30 p.m.
