Body found in Barrhaven; police investigating as suspicious death

A body was found on Monday morning near the 3100 block of Greenbank Road in Barrhaven.

Police were called as a part of a tired response for reports of a body. According to an email, Ottawa paramedics received a call for a deceased person outside a business near the intersection of Strandherd Drive and Greenbank Road.

“The person was pronounced dead at the scene,” Marc-Antoine Deschamps, media relations with Ottawa paramedics, said. “We will not be speculating on the cause of death.”

Ottawa police said that all deaths are treated as suspicious until they have been deemed otherwise.

The investigation is in the beginning stages.

“At this time police remain on-scene and are asking that people avoid the area,” officials said.
