Firefighters rescued a driver following a vehicle rollover in Ottawa’s south end over the weekend.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Albion Road and Lester Road around 2:50 p.m. on Oct. 25.
Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes of being dispatched and confirmed three vehicles had been involved in the collision.
One of the vehicles had rolled and was in the ditch driver’s side down with one occupant trapped inside.
OFS said crews quickly stabilized the vehicle and began the extrication process, using specialized tools to remove the windshield and a section of the roof.
The trapped occupant was pulled from the vehicle around 3:15 p.m.
Firefighters spread an absorbent on leaking fuels prior to clearing the scene at 3:38 p.m. and left the area in control of the Ottawa Police Service (OPS).
