It’s the type of déjà vu this provincial police officer would not like to see again.
On Friday morning, police from the Ottawa detachment were patrolling the early morning rush hour, to make commutes safer, a post on X reads.
A pickup truck driver was caught going 139 km/h on Highway 417 in the HOV lane.
“The driver was also alone in the truck,” police noted.
It turns out, the officer had stopped the same driver three times in the last two years.
The driver stopped received a $110 ticket, as well as, two demerit points for disobey sign. They could be added three demerit points upon conviction.
During the same patrol, the same officer stopped another vehicle for stunt driving. The vehicle was travelling 163 km/h in a 110 km/h zone.
It happened just before 7:00 a.m. They received a 30-day driving suspension, a 14-day vehicle impound and face a minimum $2,000 fine and six demerit points.
