A man from Embrun is facing multiple charges following a traffic complaint.
Around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint about a possible impaired driver travelling westbound on Highway 417, near Rockdale Road.
The vehicle was located by officers and, according to the OPP, initially failed to stop for police.
A roadside sobriety test was administered and police say the driver registered more then twice the legal limit.
Claude Lecomte, 64, faces the following charges:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
- Careless Driving
- Fail to Stop for Police
The accused received a 90-day driving suspension and their vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
The accused was released and is set to appear in court in Ottawa at a later date.
