Emergency crews respond to possible drowning in Kanata; child sent to hospital

A child had been hospitalized after a water rescue in Kanata.

Just before 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, a 9-1-1 call was received about a child who had possibly drowned in the Carp River Conservation area.

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS), Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) and the Ottawa Paramedic Service responded to the scene.

The child was pulled from the water by fire crews and transported to hospital by paramedics.

The OPS says more information will be released as it becomes available.
