Firefighters shuttle in water while battling blaze in Constance Bay

There are no injuries reported following an afternoon house fire in Constance Bay.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to a single-family home in the 800 block of Bayview Drive around 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

A 9-1-1 caller had reported black smoke coming from the roof of the house.

Flames could be seen coming from the home when crews arrived on scene and a working fire was declared to dispatch additional resources to the scene.

Firefighters initiated a fast attack and entered the home with a hose line, but because the fire was in an area of the city with no hydrants, a water shuttle was used to bring water to the scene.

The fire was declared under control around 1:45 p.m.

A fire investigator was dispatched to the scene to determine the cause and origin of the blaze.
