Emergency responders were on scene in East Hawkesbury Township where a man was pronounced dead after a collision.
Provincial police from the Hawkesbury detachment are investigating the fatal collision that happened on County Road 17, east of Tupper Street around 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
United Counties of Prescott Russell Paramedics and the East Hawkesbury Fire Department were also called to the collision scene.
Police say a vehicle crossed the centre line and collided with an oncoming vehicle.
The driver who was pronounced dead at the scene is a 63-year-old man from Saint-Émile-de-Suffolk, Que. The other driver, a 34-year-old woman from Grenville-sur-la-Rouge, Que., was transported by Air Ornge to a regional trauma centre.
Officials say she is in serious condition but has non-life-threatening injuries.
Hawkesbury police are continuing the investigation with assistance from a collision reconstructionist and members of the technical collision investigation team.
