Two teens have been charged in connection with a single-vehicle collision in Tay Valley Township last month.
According to the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the crash happened around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18 on Glen Tay Road.
A high-end sport utility vehicle (SUV) had left the road, struck a hydro pole, and rolled over.
There were no injuries reported, but police learned a 14-year-old had been driving.
As a result of the investigation, the 14-year-old male and a 17-year-old male face the following charges:
- Theft over $5000 of a vehicle
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
Their names cannot be released under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Two other young people in the vehicle were not charged.
Both accused have been released and are due in court in Perth at a later date.
