Bancroft Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a local man after a trespassing incident escalated.
According to OPP, officers responded to reports of a vehicle trespassing on a private property shortly after 5:00 p.m. on Aug. 22.
The accused drove toward the property owner before leaving.
Soon after, officials located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The man refused an Approved Screening Device (ASD) demand, which would determine the presence of alcohol.
While the driver was later released, he was arrested again for assaulting a peace officer while waiting for a tow truck, said police.
As a result, the suspect is facing multiple criminal charges, including failure to comply with demand and assaulting a peace officer.
The individual remains in custody and is set to appear at the Court of Justice in Belleville on Aug. 26.
