The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged nine people after executing a search warrant at a Trenton, Ont. residence on Wednesday.
Police say at around 5 a.m., the OPP alongside the Quinte West Detachment, executed a search warrant at a residence on King Street as part of a drug trafficking investigation. Police seized cash, ammunition, suspected cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Brian Calladine, 46, Olivia Kargus, 32, and Jonathan Spradbrow, 35, were charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin)
Tanya Cooper, 45 and Dana Parker, 40 were charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin)
- Fail to comply with probation order
Joseph Veleke, 33, was charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin)
- Failure to comply with undertaking
John Clarke, 51, was charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin)
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Brenda Banks, 36, was charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin)
- Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
John McDade, 35, was charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin)
- Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
Calladine, Cooper, Kargus and Parker were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, Ont. on a future court date.
Police say the other five accused were held for a bail hearing.
