The general manager of Ottawa’s transit operations has issued a statement in the wake of a serious collision involving an OC Transpo bus and a motor vehicle.
“Our thoughts are with everyone involved in the collision,” said Renée Amilcar in a memo to city council.
Emergency services responded to the crash near the intersection of Blohm Drive and Hunterswood Crescent shortly before 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 30.
According to the Ottawa Police Service (OPS), one person suffered critical injuries in the collision.
Amilcar adds there were seven people aboard the bus at the time of the crash, and that two passengers and the driver sustained minor injuries.
All three were assessed by the Ottawa Paramedic Service on scene before being released..
The OPS is leading the investigation, and Amilcar says OC Transpo continues to cooperate with those efforts.
Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam/doorbell footage but has not yet spoken to police.
