An Ottawa man is dead after being shot in the capital’s west end on Friday evening.
The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) says that the shooting happened at around 6:09 p.m. near Carling and Kirkwood Avenue.
Police have identified the victim as 28-year-old Adam Abdullahi Elmi.
Investigators say that no suspects are in custody and the investigation is ongoing. They are asking the public for surveillance video from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting.
