Ottawa Police arrest two in drug-trafficking related offences

Ottawa Police have arrested two individuals in drug-trafficking related instances. Officers have not stated whether the incidents are related to each other.

In the afternoon on Nov. 28, the Carlington Neighbourhood Resource Team (NRT) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with tinted windows on Carruthers Ave. When approached, the driver provided a false name. Once the identity of the driver was established, officers conducted a search of the vehicle. a THC vape pen, Fentanyl, a scale and baggies were all found inside.

The 22-year-old driver was arrested and charged with drug-trafficking related charges and offences relating to obstruction and resist.

Later that night, South NRT officer noticed several suspicious vehicles in the South Keys area while conducting proactive controls. Officers searched one vehicle and found cocaine, marijuana and seized several cell phones as well as a scale and Canadian currency.

The 33-year-old driver of the vehicle was arrested and drug-trafficking related charges are pending.
