The Ottawa Police Service says its Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting death of a 53-year-old man that happened on Friday.
Police say emergency crews were called to the scene at 9:22 p.m. in the area of Birch Avenue Birch Avenue and Hemlock Road. The man was found with life-threatening injuries and died shortly afterwards.
Police are not releasing the name of the victim until next of kin has been notified.
No arrests have been made at this time though police believe there isn’t a risk to public safety.
