Ottawa police lay murder charge in Orléans homicide investigation

Ottawa police charged a 27-year-old in connection to the stabbing death of Varney Marshall that happened last week in an east end neighbourhood.

The accused is Muhammad Khattak of Ottawa who is charged with second degree murder for the death of 34-year-old Marshall.

Khattak is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 14.

On Aug. 7, officers responded to the 300 block of Mockingbird Drive in Orléans at around 6:35 p.m. where they found Marshall dead.

Initially police released a statement a day later saying they were investigating a “suspicious” death.
