Ottawa police seize loaded handgun during traffic stop

A gun and vehicle have been seized following a traffic stop in Ottawa’s south-east end.

Frontline patrol officers were conducting a traffic stop around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug 6, but the driver fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle nearby.

A loaded firearm was found in the vehicle and the vehicle was seized for the investigation.

The occupants had fled the scene on foot when officers located the vehicle and police confirm to CityNews, no suspect was arrested at the scene.
