Ottawa police still searching for suspects after fatal hit-and-run 11 years ago

Michael Morlang was walking home in Ottawa’s east end when he was struck and killed by a vehicle.

It happened around 5 a.m. on Aug. 11, 2013 and police are still looking for answers. Morlang was walking on Frank Kenney Road near Navan.

There is a $25,000 reward leading to the arrest and prosecutions of the person(s) responsible.

The 30-year-old was killed the night before his 31st birthday. He was an iron worker. At the time of the incident officials said whoever struck Morlang would have had significant damage to the front end of their car.

Early investigations led officers to believe the vehicle was headed north. The vehicle is possibly a GM with dark red or burgundy paint that was used in 1997 and 1998 and again from 2003 to 2010.

Anyone with information should call the Fatal Collision Investigation Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 2345.
