It’s going to be a wet week across the National Capital Region.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement as the remnants of Hurricane Beryl is expected to bring heavy rainfall.
The weather agency say torrential downpours are possible with rainfall rates of 20 to 40 mm per hour at times, and localized rainfall totals could be in excess of 50 mm.
However, confidence in the track of the weather system and associated rainfall amounts is still low at this point and Environment Canada says rainfall warnings may be issued as confidence in the track of the system increases.
Rain is expected to start late Tuesday night or Wednesday morning and continue into Thursday.
