A lucky ticket that was purchased in Renfrew, Ont. had some lucky numbers on it in the August 13, 2024 Lotto Max draw.
The owner of that ticket, David Forrest of Horton, Ont.
His ticket was a winner of a $333,333.40 maxmillions prize.
In a press release from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), Forrest is a school bus driver and has been playing the lottery for a very long time, “since the days of WINTARIO”.
How did he find out he had a winning ticket? He said he was just having some morning coffee with his wife when he checked his ticket in the OLG app.
It took a quick double check just to see how much he really won.
“I said, ‘Oh look! I won $333 and 333 cents.’ I quickly realized that couldn’t be right. My wife took the phone and said, ‘You won $333,333!’ We stared at each other in disbelief. We were so shocked!”
Forrest said everyone he told was happy for him saying “it couldn’t have happened to a better guy”. “It just doesn’t feel real quite yet. It feels great and surreal.”
He plans to travel, invest some of the money as well as share it with his family.
