Police investigating shooting outside Drake’s Bridle Path home, rapper not injured: TPS

A man is in hospital with serious injuries following a shooting outside rapper Drake’s home in The Bridle Path.

Emergency crews were called to Park Lane Circle near Bayview Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East just after 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

Paramedics say the man’s injuries are not considered life-threatening. Police confirmed with CityNews it wasn’t Drake who was shot.

Police say a suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. So far, no suspect or vehicle descriptions have been made available.

Officers have taped off an area on the street and are expected to provide additional details later on Tuesday.

Drake is currently at the centre of an ongoing public feud with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. The two have been exchanging songs on a near-daily basis, and both rappers have released a series of diss tracks aimed at one another.

On Lamar’s most recent single, titled “Not Like Us,” he shares a Google Maps image of Drake’s Bridle Path mansion as the cover art. Drake responded with the track “THE HEART PART 6,” which he uploaded to YouTube.

It’s unclear if the shooting is related to this.
