Ottawa police are on scene at a Laurentian neighbourhood high school, near Westboro, on Tuesday morning after threats were made.
According to a post on X, police say they are aware of the threats made against Notre Dame Catholic High School and are investigating.
In a statement to families, officials at Notre Dame said police “promptly” notified the school of the threat made against it. It notes that the threat was made to police via a phone call.
“We recognize that this news may be troubling and want to be transparent about the situation. We will keep you informed as we receive more information. Currently, we are not in lockdown, and the police will continue to provide us with guidance on this matter,” the statement reads.
The school is working to respond to parent and student concerns.
Officials from both police and the school board are echoing that they “take this matter very seriously.”
The school has decided to stay open today, police note.
