Investigators with the Winnipeg police homicide unit believe that a man wanted in connection to a murder could be in Ottawa.
The warning posted on X says police are looking for Tresor Horimbere, 22, and they believe he could be in the nation’s capital.
Winnipeg soccer player Mohamed Yusuf Abdullahi, 22, was fatally shot last summer in the parking lot of a sports complex in Winnipeg after playing in the Canada African Cup of Nations. Two of the three suspects believed to have been spectators the day he was shot were arrested over the last month. Both face first-degree murder charges.
Officiers are still looking for Horimbere who they believe was involved in Abdullahi’s death. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Horimbere is described as approximately 5’8” with a slim build, weighing about 120 pounds.
There is another warrant out for Horimbere’s arrest by Ontario Provincial Police for 2023 firearms offences in the Hawkesbury, Ont. area.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact 911 or the Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit at 204-986-6508 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers 204-786-TIPS.
