A section of Highway 417 near VanKleek Hill is closed due to dangerous conditions.
Around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, a citizen called police to express concerns about the state of the Aberdeen Overpass on the 417.
Officers from the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the scene and found that sections of the overpass appeared to be buckling.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 417 were subsequently closed between Highway 34 and County Road 10.
The Ministry of Transportation also responded and confirmed the overpass is structurally unsound.
The highway remains closed for repairs.
