The Highway 417 on-ramp and off-ramp at Parkdale Avenue will be closed for several weeks, a notice on Councillor Jeff Leiper’s website reads.
From April 28 to August 25, the Parkdale eastbound on-ramp will be closed. The eastbound off-ramp will be closed over a shorter period of time from April 29 to May 14.
In a memo to residents of the Kitchissippi area, Leiper says he hasn’t seen any “communications” from the city on the closures.
“This will be a fairly significant change to traffic patterns,” Leiper said.
The Parkdale exit is used to get to and from the Ottawa Civic Hospital. There will be a detour available for the area.
The ramps are closing due to the construction of retaining walls and noise barriers around the highway, Parkdale Avenue and the O-Train, a notice from the Kiewit Dufferin Midtown Partnership reads.
