Suspect sought in Ottawa store robbery and attempted assault

Ottawa police are looking for a suspect involved in a commercial robbery earlier this summer.

It took place on July 19 in the Baseline Road and Woodroffe Avenue area of Ottawa.

At around 11:00 a.m. that day, a male suspect walked into a store, grabbed an item and left the store. When store staff approached the suspect, the alleged thief attempted to assault the workers. Police say he fled the area in a vehicle.

There were no physical injuries to any of the victims, police say.

Ottawa police describe the suspect as the following:

  • Male
  • Mid 20s
  • Between 150 lbs to 170 lbs
  • Has a black goatee

He was seen wearing a light long sleeved short, grey jogging style pants, a red Nike Air baseball hat and carrying a black backpack at the time of the incident.

The vehicle is described as a grey Honda Fit with a trailer hitch and had a cartoon monkey face sticker on the rear window.
