Police charged two youths after an altercation took place at Hillcrest High School on Jan. 13.
According to officials, the two teens are being charged in connection to an assault with an “edged” weapon that left two people, one confirmed to be a student, with serious injuries.
A 15-year-old male of Ottawa, has been charged with:
- Aggravated assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
A 16-year-old male of Ottawa, has been charged with:
- Harassment by threatening conduct
- Mischief
On Monday, police responded to the school in the Elmvale community around 9:10 a.m. When they arrived they arrested a youth and later found three more.
The other two taken into custody were released without charges pending further investigation, Ottawa police noted in a press release.
The suspects will not be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
