The Ottawa police Hate and Bias Crime Unit charged a person following an investigation into a “series” of mischief to property across the city.
The incidents occurred between March 16 and 24 and saw a person spray painting a series of anti-Semitic symbols and other hateful messages in multiple locations in the nation’s capital.
A 20-year-old woman from Ottawa has been charged with four counts of mischief to property. She is expected to appear in court on Aug. 12.
“We continue to encourage anyone who witnesses or experiences such incidents to report them to police,” a press release reads. “Reporting hate-motivated incidents is an important step in stopping cycles of hatred.”
