Ottawa 67’s captain Luca Pinelli is officially on the team representing Canada on the world stage at this year’s IIHF World Junior Championship.
The 19-year-old from Stoney Creek, Ont. is the only member of the 67’s named to the 25-player roster Friday; however Ottawa 67’s head coach Dave Cameron will serve as Team Canada’s head coach at the tournament.
Ottawa native Oliver Bonk, son of former Ottawa Senators forward Radek Bonk, also made the cut. The 19-year-old Bonk plays defence with the London Knights. This is his second time in the tournament.
Kanata-born forward Cole Beaudoin, 18, of the Barrie Colts, is also on the roster. Beaudoin was part of the gold-medal winning Team Canada at the 2024 IIHF U18 World Championships.
The tournament runs in Ottawa from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5. Canada’s first opponent is Finland on Boxing Day.
