Investigators are searching for the cause of an early morning fire at a strip mall in Kanata.
A 9-1-1 caller reported heavy smoke coming from the roof of the mall on Hazeldean Road at Castlefrank Road at approximately 3:40 a.m.
Ottawa Fire Services spokesperson Nick DeFazio says the fire started in a business in the end unit of the mall. DeFazio says when firefighters arrived on the scene, flames were coming through the roof of the building.
No one was inside the building at the time of the fire.
There are no reports of injuries.
