Here were the top baby names in Ottawa last year

Ontario unveiled the top baby names for 2023, and Olivia and Adam occupy the top spots in Ottawa.

Olivia is also the number one baby girl name in Ontario. It remains at the top of the list for the 15th consecutive year, the province says. Ontarians also appear to like the name Charlotte, as it’s the second on the list in the nation’s capital as well as Ontario.

For boys, though Adam was the most popular in Ottawa, it took the 10th spot in eastern Ontario and did not make the list for the whole province. The name Noah was also quite popular, taking the second spot in Ottawa and first in eastern Ontario as well as the entire province.

The top 10 names for girls in the capital for 2023 were:

4. Amelia

5. Sofia

6. Mia

7. Sophia/Maya/ Isla

8. Chloe

9. Abigail/ Mila

10. Luna

The top 10 names for boys in the capital were:

1. Adam

2. Noah

3. William/ Theodore

4. Liam

5. Henry

6. Lucas

7. Jacob

8. Benjamin/ Ali/ Jack

9. James/ Leo

10. Nathan

Though the top names in eastern Ontario were similar to those in the capital, they appeared in different order:
