Kingston police are asking for the public’s help locating a suspect in connection with a stabbing at a local shelter Monday morning.
Officers were called to the shelter on Cowdy Street at around 8:50 a.m. on reports of an assault. The victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police say Ryan Tonello, 42, of Orillia, Ont. is wanted on charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon.
He is described as a white man with reddish-blond hair and a scruffy beard. He was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, a dark-coloured motorcycle jacked and light-coloured ripped jeans.
“Tonello is considered to be in possession of weapons dangerous to the public and has demonstrated that he is a threat to public safety,” police said.
Anyone who sees him should not approach and instead call 9-1-1 immediately.
