The O-Train has resumed service after Line 1 was closed on Saturday to prepare for the eastern extension from Blair Station to Trim Station next year.
“The Line 1 East extension software integration testing is now complete, and trains are running from Tunney’s Pasture to Blair stations. We thank you for your patience,” OC Transpo said in a post on X.
Testing for the O-Train east extension required the full closure of the line on Saturday.
This was the latest closure of the O-Train to allow for testing of the eastern extension of the O-Train. Staff have been testing the Train Control System, along with high-speed data radio, camera, and passenger information systems.
Amilcar said last month that testing the integration of Stage 2 software with the existing O-Train is a “key step in preparation for the extension of O-Train Line 1.”
There is no word on when the O-Train East extension will open, but Amilcar has suggested it will be in the summer or fall of 2025.
