Ontario Provincial Police say a fatal fire in Arnprior in January 2024 was deliberately set and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
A 30-year-old man died in the fire in a three-storey building on Elgin Street on Jan. 10, 2024. Three other people living in the building were not hurt.
One year after the fatal fire, OPP Deputy Inspector Marty McConnell says the investigation continues.
“The investigation, in conjunction with the office of the Fire Marshal, has determined the fire was deliberately set,” McConnell said in a video posted on social media.
“The Renfrew OPP Crime Unit continues to look for the person responsible. Investigators continue to believe that someone has information or even video evidence that could lead to an arrest.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Renfrew County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
